CiviSubscribe does not work in Wordpress

I have tested the subscribe function, i.e. "?page=CiviCRM&q=civicrm/mailing/subscribe" in Wordpress. Currently, when a user enters his/her e-mail - he or she is entered into the database, but is not assigned to a group, and receives no confirmation mail.
