payment_instrument_id ignored while updating a contribution

            Description

            Unlike creating a contribution, the payment_instrument_id is ignored while updating a contribution:
            http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/ajax/rest?json=1&sequential=1&debug=1&entity=Contribution&action=update&id=5&payment_instrument_id=2

            This feature was working in the past and seem to have stopped working in the last releases.
