Description
At present you can assign tags to the whole of an imported file but not to individual records within the file.
I have a contact history to import that includes a rich set of 'check-box' fields that I'd like to assign to tags (and groups). It would be valuable to be able to assign an import field to a tag value - say field-type:tag value:this-tag set if the imported field evaluates to 'true'.
There are two possible work-arounds that I can see. (a) to sub-divide my data into small import files that share tag settings. I think this may works for some tags but as many are not exclusive it is not a complete solution as it will generate many small (>10 records) import files. (b) is to assign custom field to the import tag fields, use those to select the records in CiviCRM, and apply the tags; the custom fields are them redundant and could be removed.
(b) is probably the better work-around but is far from ideal.
