Wrong amount stored in line items during editing a contribution

when editing a contribution if the amount is comma separated, eg 2,300.00. Then 2 is being stored in line_total of civicrm_line_item.

Steps to replicate
Edit a contribution and enter amount 2,300.00.
The line_total in civicrm_line_item is stored as 2 rather then 2300.00.
