Find Contributions URL doesn't populate Date fields

On Manage Contributions page, Contributions link beside each page, the three options cause a Find Contributions search by redirecting to a URL like:
http://civiaccounts/civicrm/contribute/search?reset=1&pid=1&force=1&test=0&start=20121201&end=20121228
The from and to dates are used for the search, but are not populated in the relevant fields, at least when no results are found. By contrast, the page field is properly populated for a subsequent search.
