importing data against cudtom field used for addressess

custom data added "used for addresses" data "test1"

When I import against this field the import says it has imported the data, however no data is actually imported when looking at the contact record or in the database.

Try to test this on http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/

When I import now, I get a 500 error.

The csv file upload contains 1 line with contact email address and the 1 field of custom data I wish to import against that record.

I've also tested this on 4.2.8 and again the import completes but no data is imported looking at the contact record or in the database.
