I was doing a vanilla install with someone and there are a couple of places in the installation docs at - http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC43/Drupal+Installation+Guide+for+CiviCRM+4.3+-+Drupal+7
Where it could certainly be clearer as they were very confused, I'm happy to just change the page and you can approve if you like? Especially around point 2
