Batch Update Membership Type Icon Switches to First in List, No Matter Which You Pick

Reproduced on demo site but also kinda hard to explain. Use "Batch Update Via Profile" to change membership types. Choose a membership type OTHER THAN the first in the list. Then click the icon. It switches all memberships to the first type in the list, regardless of your choice.
