Cannot edit event registrations with an expired price set option

I have an event with an early bird registration and a normal price as options in a price set. The early bird is of course set to expire on a certain date/time.

After the early-bird expires, I cannot edit event registrations for attendees that registered with the early bird pricing as this option is not longer displayed in the interface, and the price field is mandatory.
