Description
Having a zero amount for a contribution (either as one of the options or through the another amount box or total using price sets) does not result in a contribution record being created for the user, nor a confirmation email being sent.
This did work in earlier versions of CiviCRM (circa June-August 2012) so functionality has been lost.
Zero contributions are recorded for memberships in conjunction with 100% discounts from the CiviDiscount Module in 4.2.8 and CiviDiscount 2.1 so some functionality is present.
