"Find Pledges" search throws SQL error if end-user uses a comma in 'amount'

I have reproduced this under version 4.2.7 and 4.3.4, including the public demo at http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/

to reproduce this:
1) Click Contributions...Pledges... Find Pledges

2) In the filter "pledge amount" fill in 1,800 ( any number with a comma will do, in either the from or to field)

3) Click Search

FYI: If I use my mouse to put the curser in the "to" field, it jumps over to the "from field. The only way I can get the curser in the "to" field is to first put the curser in the "from" field, then use the tab key on my keyboard. Not sure if this is intentional UI design or not, but its very frustrating to an end-user.
