Under Some Circumstances, Some Aspects of CiviCRM (including Name Fields) Stop Being Visible

I have written about this here: http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,30178.0.html. I suspect that the issue has something to do with a required component for CiviCRM that is not currently on the prerequisites list. The issue appears to be restricted to only a few locations - which I'm guessing use some similar code function which is not operating correctly.
