Cividiscount - pricesets w/text/numeric quantity not getting discounted

The context is Event Registration, using Discount code.
I configured Events, added a Priceset, using the price field type text/numeric quantity which represents the quantity / number of selected fee, adding a price field for a CC fee of $4.00 with a radio button.
I configured a discount code, applicable to this Event.
After entering qty of fees/ticets, CC fee and then discount code and pressing 'Apply' only the CC fee is discounted. The total fee includes the full fee of (quantity X fee), plus (discounted) CC fee.
Both Priceset and Event were added to the Discount code list of applicable items.

Using radio selection of fee (instead of quantity) plus CC fee results in discount applied to both fee and CC fee, which I what I would expect.

'Workaround' is to not use the text/numeric quantity with discounting.
