CiviContribute - Contributions Summary View Details link doesn't set contribution start date properly and causes Export failures on search results

When I use the "Find Contributions" page (/civicrm/contribute/search/basic)
to find and export the contributions for a specific time period, the search
results and export functionality work as expected. However, when I start on
the CiviContribute main page (/civicrm/contribute) and click on one of the
"view details..." links in the "Contributions Summary" section, then try to
export, I get strange behavior:

• Checking "selected records only" and checking some records seems to select
  the correct number (verified on the following page), but the exported data
  file contains only column headers and no data.

• Checking "all N records" similarly claims to select the correct number on
  the following page, but the exported CSV contains the inverse results: all
  contributions in the system excluding the search results set.
