cannot use email to mach contacts when importing contributions

Hi, our association is using CiviCRM to manage its members and donors. We found that since a few days when doing a contribution import (from Paypal) there is not the possibility to select the contact email as a way to match a contact anymore.

Please see an example import file (with funny names) and a screenshot of the mapping step for the Contribution import.

We are using CiviCRM 4.4.3 on Drupal 7.26 with the Italian locale.
