Drupal 7 views - Event links should return empty rather than a non-word link if the person does not have permission

At the moment Drupal 7 views offer event links & you can specify the 'label' - e.g. 'Participants' - if the person does not have permission this shows as a word without a link. If it returned nothing views offers options to deal with this ( what to do if empty - including dropping the column all together ).

We could make the 'what to do' configurable but I discussed with Chris B & neither of us could think of a situation when returning the word would be a better behaviour than returning empty when there is no link on a link field.
