Incorrect Display Name on Frontend Dashboard

Current Joomla 2.5.18 Civicrm 4.4.5

Im having an issue that I just cant seem to figure out the last few days. We noticed an issue when a client logs into the front end dashboard, the display name is incorrect as well as the groups joined are not correct. It shows correctly in CiviCRM back end like it should.

We also noticed when adding a group to the user, it will add it to both users account. SO for example: Warne is in group 1&2 and Hilton is not in any groups. Warne logs in and sees Hilton display name and incorrect groups. Warne deletes group 1 and Hilton sees group 1 "no longer joined in red even tho he never was apart of any group to begin with". Warne adds group 5 and Hilton gets added to group 5 as well. Hilton deletes group 5 and it is deleted from Warnes account, now showing in red.

It seems they are connected in some way and its messing up everyones accounts because people are seeing groups that they are not suppose to be in. Also at random it shows status "removed from API" even tho noone removed it manually. Happens at random

Please help. I took on this project to help a non profit and we fixed most of what they need, but this issue has us pulling our hair out. lol
