{mailing.viewUrl} link (civicrm/mailing/view) breaks page rendering

The link created by the

{mailing.viewUrl} token generates a page using the CiviCRM Base Page. However, the rendering craps out, preventing the full WordPress page from loading.

This happens regardless of WordPress theme.
