            Description

            The value returned for a custom file field (eg an image file) should just be the value stored, not that value wrapped in a <a> tag even if the latter might be convenient for a common use.

            Or are we missing some documentation or misunderstanding something about how to use these files now that the security has been tightened on custom contact files?
