Tab with table date field shows wrong date format

Although a date format can be selected for the custom field (see 2nd attached image), this date format is not respected in the 'Tab with table' display.

This leads to verbose display (like: Dec 01, 2014 12:00 AM) (see 1st attached image) where we manually configured something lean and mean like 01-12-09).

I don't know where this should be configured. It's probably a very small fix.
But very much appreciated
