Custom fields unformatted on Event Name Badges

When a contact reference field is selected for display on an Event Name Badge, the output is the Internal ID of the contact that is referenced. The behavior I expected would be the display name of the contact referenced in the field. Similar to the behavior of including "Current Employer" as a row element. Use case: we use a custom contact reference field on all our member's contact records to keep track of their primary chapter, when they attend events we want to have the name of the chapter printed on their name badge.
