I have tried to get the ecivicrm integration to work but it fails as other have noticed in
http://drupal.org/node/80561
http://drupal.org/node/88219
http://drupal.org/node/43607
Issue 3 in:
http://drupal.org/node/119243
I also get the fatal error:
Error produced when trying to add address:
Fatal error: Cannot use object of type CRM_Core_DAO_Phone as array in /hsphere/local/home/saltbush/saltbushmeats.com.au/modules/civicrm/api/utils.php on line 59

Strictly speaking this is an issue for the ECivicrm issue tracker, however I noticed that in registering for the Nabble News Group, for the Jira issue tracker and for the CIviCrm site I had to create one identity for each of these three areas of the same site. As well although the CiviCRM site registration claims that I can use my Drupal.org login thsi does not actually appear to work.
The point is that integration overall between CiviCrm and CMS's probably needs to improve - and as well there should be a more seamless integration in the way an identity created in Civicrm can be shared with third party applications - it should be a little more like a LDAP server.
I don't really know whether this is an issue for CiviCRM so much as it is for the CMS projects themselves - but it seems that alot of work needs to be done to cut down on duplicate data.
- The various mailing modules in Drupal should inetgrate with CiviCrm so that node mailing , for example , are recorded in CivCRM.
- The various event and calender modules should talk better with CviCrm - but that convastion should probably go both ways.
- it seems obvious to me that if you have a collaborative website there should be some sort of mapping between roles and Groups in Drupal and CiviCrm - and as well that things like content submission and comments get tracked in CiviCrm
