adding tags to "inbound email" activities

Inbound email activities are not editable to protect the autid trail - All good, but would it be possible to begin allowing the activity to be tagged?
Tagging the emails will make them activity to email much more useful in the future, as ti will enable a way for the emails to be organised.
This is probably a feature request, but it could be construed as a bug too, and wanted to put it out there.
