Custom money field does not format on the summary page

Steps to replicate-
1) Create a custom field for Contact (data type = Money).
2) Add a value to this field (say 12345678) for any contact.
3) On Saving, it is seen as 12345678.00. It should be displayed as 12,345,678.00.
