Regression - Membership status override gets 'stuck'

We use status override for memberships in various occasions:

• if a member has been accepted for membership, but didn't pay yet
• if a member has been suspended due to different reasons

When the status override is de-ticked, the status should automatically be set to the state detemined by the status rules. However, after the new update, the status remains in whatever the previous status override was.
