Batch Data Entry: Start date is NULL when membership batch entry is processed

      Description

      Step 1. Navigate to Memberships > Batch Data Entry

      Step 2. Click on New Data entry batch and select type as Memberships. Enter in the appropriate number of items and total amount.

      Step 3. Select a contact with an existing membership.

      Notice how the other fields like member since are filled in, but start date is left empty. In most cases, the start date remains the same after a renewal, so after validating and processing the batch renewal, the start date should remain unaffected. In this case, if no value is entered for a start date, it sets itself to NULL.
