Can't install CiviCRM on Backdrop using the Module Installer

            Description

            I attempted to use the installer as documented in the Civi docs and got the following error:

            The info file (temporary://update-extraction-d681262a/civicrm/backdrop/civicrm.info) does not define a 'type' attribute.

            I fixed that, plus updated the PHP minimum version.
