Cannot see check boxes in Site Preferences

            Description

            This is 1.8 stable version on Drupal 5.2, PHP5 and MySQL5. I'm logged in as a user with all CiviCRM access in Drupal. In "civicrm/admin/setting/preferences/display?reset=1" I have a complete listing of the various groups of preferences, but no checkboxes. I actually have 1.8 running on two sites and on the other site, it's fine. Stumped where to look next.
