            Description

            Background

            The MAAWG (Messaging Anti-Abuse Working Group) published its "Senders Best Communications Practices, Version 2.0" on April 22nd, 2008 (see http://www.maawg.org/about/MAAWG_Sender_BCP/MAAWG_Senders_BCP_Ver2.pdf).

            One of its recommendations (p13) is for senders to implement the list-unsubscribe mechanism (RFC 2369). While RFC 2369 is not yet a standard, the MAAWG endorsement is compelling

            Proposal

            Emails sent by CiviMail ought to include a List-Unsubscribe header containing the unsubscribe address. Note that this is NOT a replacement for the

            {action.unsubscribe}

            link in the body of the email.
