weight field not shown for many custom data field types

at civicrm/admin/custom/group/field only select, radio, and checkbox field types make visible a place to type in the weight of the field in safari 1.3 on both your php4 and php5 demos. i've been doing a workaround where i go to one of the field types that work, type in the weight, and then switch back to text or textarea whatever, and then it's worked.
