When a user error happens in CiviContribute, an unexpected php error shows up

            Description

            When testing a CiviContribute page on 2.1, I had setup a minimum donation of $5.00. When I tested the form at 1.00, it warned me as expected but I got the following error message:

            warning: htmlspecialchars() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given in /home/cha/public_html/civicrm/sites/all/modules/civicrm/packages/HTML/Common.php on line 144.

            I also saw this error message when my payment processor had an error and was unable to process a donation.
