Description
In marketing, having a "technique" is essential to a successful package. For instance, direct mailers included a dollar bill in a package decades ago and that technique still is very effective today.
In online marketing the scenarios are a bit different. The technique could be asking people to sign a card to a wounded soldier or sign a petition to congress. To accomplish this, a landing page needs to have both a contribution section and then an ability for non-givers to still compete the technique such as signing a card.
The purpose of the technique is to be able to collect the data of the signer in order to open up solicitations in the future and build the email list.
Here's an example of a poorly designed landing page that does that: https://www.donatefast.com/donate3/index.cfm?id=csahh4h&mailcode=CHM6N4TH
CiviCRM is already very close to having this work but it needs to provide a non-dollar amount in the gift array and fix the "other amount" issue.
If this can be done and source codes can be managed somehow, CiviCRM will be probably the best, most comprehensive tool for non-profit marketers, giving organizations a huge advantage in online fundraising.
Thanks for looking into this and please let me know how I can help.
