Event templates allow input into custom fields, but this input ignored on new event creation

      Description

      We've defined a number of custom data fields for events. These fields properly show up in the event template form and allow us to enter data in the event template form (which is preserved when saved).

      However, when creating a new event from one of these templates, the data stored in the custom field for the template is not filled in (it's left empty).
