Pledge status not updated when Contribution to Pledge made

• • • PLEASE talk to dave g before beginning work on this! At this point it looks like the problem only occurs with Pledges that are injected via sample data, and not new user-created ones. ***

On the demo site, Helen Sykes has a Pledge:

A Contribution was made towards that Pledge:

When going to record another Contribution by Helen Sykes it still shows that she has an outstanding Pledge amount:

Clicking the link and recording the Contribution against the "outstanding Pledge" seems to create 12 additional pledge records under that Pledge (even though the total of the Pledge does not increase). See:

Ones the Pledge payment has been made the "outstanding Pledge" message should not display on the Contribution page although it would be good if it showed an alternate message that enabled you to make the Contribution to another pledge payment that is not outstanding.
