Description
I've been working with Shane at CiviSMTP to figure out why we cannot break the limit of 6,000 e-mails per hour throughput using CiviSMTP. His reasoning is that CiviCRM only allows a single connection to their service and that is why we cannot get above that limit. He noted that they have no customers who can send faster than that. We run a fairly large association that frequently sends out event e-mails to our list of over 100,000 e-mail addresses. As you can imagine, this is not the most timely thing to do given the 6,000/hour throughput. I request that the Civi team work to allow multiple connections to SMTP services to allow associations and others using Civi to manage much large mailings than we can currently can handle. I've attached the brief conversation between Shane and myself.
