Description
Duplicate checking on the standalone form should allow for users who are already in the system (but don't know it) to submit additional information. I'm running a campaign for political office. Eventually we will load up the Sec. of State registered voterfile, and from that point on quite a few people who might want to fill out the form will already be in the database. I need them to be able to fill out the form without it either a) possibly falsely overwriting what is already in the system or b) entirely refusing to accept what they send. One immediate thought is to create a "moderation queue" for new database entries submitted through the standalone form. The queue would accept the entire data submission and provide an interface for an admin user to accept or deny the submission into the "actual" database. Not-yet-accepted/published entries would not come up during regular searches etc..
The simple way to do the interface would be a simple yes/no accept/deny button. The complicated way would be to automatically check for a duplicate entry and then show the values the user submitted side-by-side with the values pre-existing in the database with checkboxes to accept or deny PER FIELD. Anyway, just some ideas. Even a simple yes/no interface would be a big help, possibly using the regular search interface (a "special" group or tag?) in order to do mass accept/deny as well.
