The contribution form is having difficulty with unset/null fulfillment date values :
Issue 1 - A contribution can be created without setting the fulfillment date (null), but when that contribution record is edited, the form auto-fills the fulfillment date as "today" instead of leaving it blank/null.
Issue 2 - Once set, the fulfillment date cannot be unset, or returned to a null value. The "clear" field works, but doesn't update the database value to null.
A partial resolution is being worked on in the above thread.
