Creating a new event results in "You do not have permission to access this page" with memcache enabled

With Drupal and Civicrm and with CIVICRM_USE_MEMCACHE defined creating a new event results in the above error when continuing to the next step. The failure is due to the event cache not being reset when the new event is created. I've attached a patch which is a hack to reset the cache. I'm guessing there may be a better spot to do this but not sure where that is.
