      Description

Our project needs a CSS/HTML/standards compliance 'guru' who can be the go-to person for CSS coding, standards-compliant HTML and problem-solving in these areas. So, the background of this task is to devote study time honing knowledge and resources in these areas. This may include reading technical guides as well as reviewing and trying out the code examples from some of the key 'guru' sites, including:
      http://www.alistapart.com/topics/code/
      http://www.csszengarden.com/

      Specific tasks for this issue:

      • Remove obsolete and duplicate declarations in our css files => civicrm.css, mambo.css, print.css
      • Check for and remove redundant / unnecessary HTML tags in files as you encounter them
      • Validate common page 'patterns' for valid HTML and CSS (we don't need to check every page - but rather every 'style' of page, e.g. our complex and simple edit forms, single object display pages, selectors, wizards)
      • Validate 'reasonable' rendering in current popular browser versions (we will NOT actively support older browser versions)
