      Description

Given the complexity of CiviCRM, it is important for the user to know "where they are" in the many possible screens. Frequently, however, it is not possible to tell where a user is in the process (what event or other topic they are editing). This is a design issue which may occur in multiple situations, but I have only encountered it in CiviEvent so far (my only area of experience to-date). It creates unnecessary confusion in a program which is as powerful as CiviCRM. It's more than a 'bread crumb' issue.

Example: Administer/Customize/CiviCRM Profile – after the user enters the Profile screen, there is no indication on the screen which profile is being edited/viewed (i.e., the Profile Title is not visible).
Example: Administer/CiviEvent/Manage Events/Configure Event: after the user enters the configure option, there is no indication showing which event the user is working within. For an organization with multiple events, this is confusing and requires constantly going back to the primary screen to determine which event is being configured.

Example of a page where this is NOT a problem: Administer/CiviContribute/Manage Contribution Pages/Configure. When the user enters the contribution page configure option, the name of the option being edited ("Member Signup and Renewal") is visible, so they always know where they are. That would be helpful to have throughout CiviEvent, to help users know what topic/event/category they are editing.
      thanks!
