Custom date field displays time when the field format specifies no time input

To recreate, enter a Marriage Date in the Constituent Info custom data set when editing an individual contact. You can only enter a date value (not a time) which is correct. But on the Summary tab, the Marriage Date displays as $date + 12:00 AM

"February 3rd, 2011 12:00 AM"

... should just display $date.
