allow user to choose export fields from custom search "Include / Exclude Contacts in a Group / Tag" like advanced search export

We have several clients that use the custom contact search "Include / Exclude Contacts in a Group / Tag". It would be very helpful if this search allowed the user to choose the fields they'd like to export (like an advanced search). I know we can get some sponsorship $$ and we may be able to have someone on our team work on it if you can point me in the right direction and give me an idea of the effort.
