The default merge values delete information

Hi,

the default merge screen doesn't copy the activities/relationship/notes/participant..

ie. If you blindly merge contacts, you will loose half of the related entities.

The merge screen should have checked by default all the related entities instead of unchecked, so if you don't pay attention, you keep all the information.

Am I missing a good reason to have unchecked by default ?
