Cannote remove Soft Credit from existing Contribution

When we try and edit an existing contribution which has a Soft Credit specified (a name in the "Soft Credit to" field), we cannot remove the soft credit by erasing the name in the field and save the contribution. On the save, it does not remove the Soft Credit - just keeps the name there.
