merge contacts creates duplicate relationships

When merging two contacts who both have the same relationship (i.e. bob1 and bob2 are both married to judy, which makes sense sense they are actually the same person), the duplicate relationship will not be deleted, so now bob has 2 marriages to judy, which is supposed to be illegal (the u.i. won't let you do that, nor will the api).
