"Batch Update for Events - Participant Status" page does not display custom status labels

To reproduce:
Goto (Using Joomla 1.6) Administer > CiviEvents > Participant Statuses: Change the "Display Label" for any default statuses.

Goto Events Dashboard > Awaiting Approval > Select All records / Change Participants Statuses.

The master status selector drop down box does not use the custom labels however the box next to each name does (as shown in attachment).
