hook_civicrm_pre and hook_civicrm_post not triggered when membership updated from contribution status change.

If a contact has a pending membership with a related pending contribution and the back-office updates the related contribution, marking it paid, the membership (status and other) is subsequently updated, but the hooks are not called, leaving no capability to act on that change.

I noticed this as I was trying to develop a hook to create a pending activity (for follow-up workflow) any time a contact became a new member.
