Multiple registration hangs in Joomla 2.5.2/2.5.3 with 2 or more contacts when PDF receipt attachment is enabled.

Registration progresses to the confirmation phase, then hangs indefinitely. The contacts are registered for the event, but no email is sent, and the confirmation screen is not displayed. No error or timeout occurred after over an hour of hang.
