Clicking record payment after changing a 2nd/3rd participants selections fails

If you edit the event selections of a participant who is not the lead booker.. then click record payment to add the difference you get an error. If you go to the the lead booker and click record payment it works.

Clicking record payment from the 2nd/3rd participant should either add payment to the lead booker or ask if you want to add the payment to the lead booker or the person who booking you have just changed.
