Description
Let us say that the default date setting for your site is set to something other than mm/dd/yyyy.
If you create a custom date field and include it as a "View Only" field in a profile that has 'Used For' set to View/Edit Drupal User Account then when you access the profile to edit other information in it, the default date format is not respected and the date is displayed as mm/dd/yyyy.
The default date format is respected if you are just viewing the profile on you drupal user screen.
dd/mm/yyyy is probably the default date format that causes the most confusion with this bug as the attached two screen shots illustrate. The date was 8 February 2015, but people would not know whether it was that or 2 August 2015.
I have observed this behaviour on our own 4.4.11 drupal site and confirmed the bug still exists on the 4.5.6 and (currently) 4.6.alpha 6 demo sites.
